Dr Anna Kermond
MBBS (Bond University), FRACP (Rheumatology)
Dr Anna Kermond is a rheumatologist with a passion for regional healthcare. Originally from Cooran in rural Queensland, she completed a year of Pharmaceutical science at Griffith University before earning her MBBS at Bond University. Dr Kermond undertook her advance rheumatology training at the Royal Brisbane Women’s, Cairns and Redcliffe Hospitals with a special focus on obstetric rheumatology, scleroderma and connective tissue disorders.
Dr Kermond is dedicated to fostering a collaborative approach to patient care with a focus on empowering patients and their General Practitioners through shared decision-making and mutual education. She has featured on a lecture series for the Metro North GP network and spotify podcasts series ‘The Round Up’ with the goal to make rheumatological care and education accessible for all clinicians.
She offers telehealth consultations across Queensland, providing accessible care to patients in regional and remote areas. With a commitment to improving patient outcomes, Dr Kermond combines expertise and compassion in her comprehensive approach to rheumatological care.
Dr Aravi Loganathan
MBBS (James Cook University), FRACP (Rheumatology), MMed, MPH
Dr Aravi is a consultant adult rheumatologist with extensive clinical, academic and research experience. He graduated from James Cook University in 2013 and completed his training at Logan and Princess Alexandra Hospitals. In 2021, Dr Aravi earned his Fellowship in Rheumatology (FRACP) and received the Ken Muirden Overseas Training Fellowship to pursue research and work and at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD) in the UK.
Dr Aravi is involved in international research and has published on psoriatic arthritis, gout and myositis. He is passionate about medical education and is the Director of Clinical Training for Rheumatology in Queensland and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He also holds a public appointment at Logan Hospital and specialises in the treatment of a wide range of rheumatological conditions including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases and gout.
In his free time, he enjoys cricket, rugby, soccer and spending time with his family in Brisbane where he grew up.
Dr David Pietsch
MBBS (University of Queensland), FRACP (Rheumatology)
Dr David Pietsch is a specialist rheumatologist. He was raised in regional Queensland before moving to Brisbane to study medicine at the University of Queensland. He has completed his basic physician and rheumatology training across multiple sites including the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Redcliffe Hospital. During his years at the RBWH he also held the position of the chief medical registrar.
He has extensive experience with medical student and junior doctor education, is a committee member with the Australian Rheumatology Association and has performed clinical research in rheumatoid arthritis and gout. David enjoys all aspects of general rheumatology and is passionate about working in partnership with patients to optimise their chronic autoimmune conditions. Outside of work, you’ll find him chasing a toddler and groodle across local parks and beaches.
